Sunny Wrap Dress - Customer Creation

I got these pictures in my email today from a customer in the UK. She used the Sunny Wrap Dress pattern and added the ribbon and button to the front. The dog print fabric is too cute and the wide polka dot ribbon add a great touch to the look. This little girl is so cute and seems to like her new dress.

This is a dress made by one of the military moms from a package I sent using the Sunny Wrap Dress. Her mom calls her "Bug-a-Boo" so the bug fabric was perfect for her.

She was picking flowers for her mom. How sweet.

New Year Sewing Projects

I started the New Year off by sewing a few samples to display at the All Brands Baton Rouge store.

This one was made using the Emily Dress Pattern from a Michael Miller print called Malibu Flamingo. It was made in honor of the Baton Rouge Spanish Town Mardi Gras Parade with flamingos being the 2010 theme. The lining and inserts from Fabric Finder's pink/white check fabric.

To keep with the Mardi Gras theme, this outfit was made using the Annette Reversible Sundress pattern for the top (shortened a little) and Karen Capri Pants. The embroidery design was a free download from All Brands Sew Forum, (this post). There are some very talented digitizers that share these awesome designs. The green fabric is Fabric Finder's pique and the frog print is by Timeless Treasures.

Using the frog print on the reversed side of the top allows this outfit to be worn after Mardi Gras as a fun play outfit..

This one was made in the Easter theme, which by the way will be early this year so it's never too early to get started.

Sunny Wrap Dresses

This past weekend I made these two Sunny Wrap Dresses.


This one I lined in black broadcloth and did not make it reversible. This fabric has been drawing me in at All Brands for awhile and I recently caved in and purchased some to try with the Sunny pattern. Wouldn't this be a great fall look with a black long sleeve underneath?


This Sunny Wrap Dress is reversible. I tried out a new embroidery design I have called Funky flowers from Linnie Pinnie. It's actually an applique but I loked the look of just the outline. Since I was experimenting with the design, I felt the flowers were too far apart so I added some butterflies to fill in the blank spaces.

This is the reversed side of the above dress out of Jane Sassaman's Prairie Gothic Print that I love so much.

Dee Dee Pleated Dress and Sunny Wrap Dress Customer Creations and New pattern by Sew Sensible

I just got these awesome pictures from one of my customers. I started attending the Embroidery Club at All Brands after purchasing my embroidery machine where I met her and found out she was a customer. She sews beautifully and has a precious granddaughter to sew for as you can see in the pictures.

She made this from Sunny Wrap Dress Pattern. The LSU tiger embroidery on the front and bright bow adds a great touch to this little tiger fan's outfit.

This dress is made from the Dee Dee Pleated Dress Pattern. She added piping and used a flap with buttons on the side instead of tieing the sash. She also added the border on the bottom which inspired me to update my pattern to include a border.

Sunny Wrap Dress/Annette Reversible Sundress-Customer Creations

Here are a couple of customer creations from the Sunny Wrap Dress and Annette Reversible Sundress. This customer just happens to be a former high school class mate of mine that I haven't seen in years. She found my blog and recognized her granddaughter's friend on one of my covers. Aren't these so cute.

Here is what she said.
"here are two of the dresses i made w/annette and sunny patterns. annette i took smaller flower and made a barrette from it to match. love the patterns. let me know when you have some new ones. my granddaughter says she wants to be a princess and a princess needs alot of clothes so maw maw is trying to help her become one."

Sunny Wrap Dress Sewing Pattern with applique

I'm finally getting more comfortable using my embroidery machine and everyone was right - it can be addictive. I made the Sunny Wrap Dress in the reversible style using Heather Bailey coordinating fabric I purchased from All Brands.

The applique design is from Applique for Kids. I wanted something easy to try and thought the bow design would be something I could use on many projects. The dress took only a couple of hours to make.

This is the reverse side. I am drawn to fabrics with pinks and greens. All Brands in Baton Rouge has a large selection of fabrics from different designers. They keep adding more. It's hard to resist temptation to buy everything I like.

YCMT/SWAK Thanksgiving Collaboration

Here are some pictures of the Sunny Wrap Dress I made to use in the YCMT/SWAK Thanksgiving Collaboration. I made the dress and mailed it to someone to take pictures in the model they selected. I didn't put any information with the dress and when the pictures came out, I realized the dress was on backwards. I was a little upset about it at first but then realized that it made the dress even that much more versatile. Not only can you reverse it inside out, you can reverse it backwards and frontwards. I did design it so that the wrap is in the back so I can't guarantee it will fit the same with the wrap in the front but if you have the pattern, check it out and let me know what you think

Sunny Dress For Sale at KB Creative

I recently discovered an Etsy Shop that is selling dresses made from the Sunny Wrap Dress Pattern she purchased from YCMT. She sells a variety of items for children and takes some custom orders for the Sunny Dress as well as having a few in a variety of sizes. Her home is in British Columbia and is a mother of three children, the oldest just started kindergarten and the youngest only 1 1/2.

Here is what she said about the Sunny Pattern: "I love it! I got so many compliments on the dresses I made my own daughters that I added some extras to my Etsy."
