Dodie Sundress - New Pattern Almost done

Here is a picture of my new pattern - Dodie.  It's a very easy sundress that has lots of possibilities.  Because it uses very little fabric, you can use scraps especially for the bodice and straps.  The only difference between this and the final version is the length (I will be adding length to the final version).

I'm waiting on one tester's comments before I make the final changes and finish the cover before it will be available.

Photo Shoot at the Beach

I spent the weekend at the beach and had the opportunity to take some pictures of a friend in a couple of outfits from my patterns. She was an awesome model, posing like a professional.

Annette Reversible Sundress Customer Creations

These are dresses made from the Annette Reversible Sundress Pattern by a mom who is just beginning to sew. As you can see she has caught on quite well and made these dresses for her beautiful daughter. Not only did she do a great job, I'm sure lots of love was added to every stitch.

I always put the fabric flower on the bottom right but I like it in the center. Another great idea from a customer.

Emily Dress and Annette Reversible Sundress Customer Creations

I was excited when I checked my emails and found these customer pictures using the Emily Dress pattern and Annette Reversible Sundress Pattern. Big dots and stripes makes such a great combination for the bright and colorful Emily Dress and the monkey prints are too cute.

Dee Dee Pleated Dress and Sunny Wrap Dress Customer Creations and New pattern by Sew Sensible

I just got these awesome pictures from one of my customers. I started attending the Embroidery Club at All Brands after purchasing my embroidery machine where I met her and found out she was a customer. She sews beautifully and has a precious granddaughter to sew for as you can see in the pictures.

She made this from Sunny Wrap Dress Pattern. The LSU tiger embroidery on the front and bright bow adds a great touch to this little tiger fan's outfit.

This dress is made from the Dee Dee Pleated Dress Pattern. She added piping and used a flap with buttons on the side instead of tieing the sash. She also added the border on the bottom which inspired me to update my pattern to include a border.

All Brands Contest

Here are the pictures of the submissions for the All Brand Contest. Whether the patterns were made just as designed or something unique added, all of the submissions were awesome.

All Brands Sewing Contest

All Brands is having a sewing contest with Nanoo Design Patterns and Sew Sensible Patterns. Here is the flier with the details. Adoption Workshop, APIL and CDs for Nanoo Designs

Saturday morning I helped with an adoption workshop sponsored by Healing Place Church. Check out His Heart for Orphans Blogs for details and pictures.

Saturday afternoon was the APIL (Ascension Parish Inclusive League) Fall Fest with food, games, prizes and lots of fun. Here are some pictures.

These are the winners of the Pillow Pals I donated as door prizes. The names picked just happened to be a boy and a girl that worked out perfect since we had a boy and girl Pillow Pal.

I also worked on a new project - epatterns on cd. Aimee from Sew Sensible talked to someone at All Brands and we are both now selling our patterns on their website on cd and will soon have them available in their stores in Baton Rouge and Lafayette. I've been working on the first order and making one of each pattern to showcase in their store.

New Pattern for Boys & Girls

NEW PATTERN - COMING SOON!

I'm working on a new pattern that will be called Betsey/Joey and will be for boys or girls sizes 1 through 4. This one will have a reversible option, different lengths and instructions and ideas to change the look. It will be a pattern that can be used over and over and combined with other patterns for new and different looks. I'm still in the testing stage and getting the details worked out. I've had to make several to find the best and easiest way to sew it together plus I want to have lots of pictures of the different options available.

That's all I'm saying for now but will be posting updates as it progresses. I'm looking forward to offering this pattern and hope I can get it out in the next few weeks.


You may have noticed that I name my patterns and each one so far is named for someone special to me. Here is a little about the inspiration for the names.

Annette Reversible Sundress Pattern -
This was my very first epattern. There was lots of trial and error, corrections and revisions but finally finished product was completed and submitted. The Annette pattern is named after my identical twin sister, Annette, who died 10 years ago. She also enjoyed sewing and other crafty things and I know if she were still alive, we would probably doing these patterns together. I wanted to do something special to honor her. Even though it has been 10 years, she is still missed greatly.

Tana Tutu Dress -

Tana was named after my oldest daughter. Her name comes from my grandmother, Antonia Fontana. To the grandchildren, she was known as Momo Tana. Tana was a prissy little girl so I thought naming the tutu dress for her was fitting.

Karen is named after my twin sister's daughter. Karen and Tana were born 6 weeks apart but have very different personalities.

This new pattern is named after my two younger children. Betsey is a coach and loves sports and since the pattern will be for boys also, I decided to use both their names.

Joey In the future, I will have a pattern named Emily, my twin sister's other daughter. After that, I'll see what names and people inspire me for future patterns.

New Sew Sensible Website & Nanoo Designs Tutu Pattern/Bundle Packs and New Pattern Preview

My friend Aimee recently set up her own website for her epatterns. She has great easy to make patterns for little girls. Check out the new website and sign her guestbook.
