Christmas Outfits, Customer Creation and New Years Wish for you

The last day of 2011.  Seems like this year went by so fast.  For me this has been the "Year of the Babies".  Starting in January with the birth of my first granddaughter and then later the birth of my twin grandbabies (a boy and a girl) in April.  Babies bring such joy in a family and we are so blessed with these three little ones.  I did manage to do  some sewing and hope to work on a couple of new patterns in 2012. 

I wish you all a very blessed and prosperous 2012.  I know there may be some who have had a rough year.  I pray that you will trust in God and know he is there for you in any circumstance.

These are five outfits I made for my grandchildren and two others that are like family.  They are made from Fabric Finder's corduoroy.  The girl's dresses are an adaption of one of my patterns and the boy's made using The Children's Corner Johnny pattern.

This is a Tana Tutu Dress made by a customer.  This little girl is so precious and the dress is so adorable on her.  I always love getting pictures from customers.

Dodie Sundress - New Pattern Almost done

Here is a picture of my new pattern - Dodie.  It's a very easy sundress that has lots of possibilities.  Because it uses very little fabric, you can use scraps especially for the bodice and straps.  The only difference between this and the final version is the length (I will be adding length to the final version).

I'm waiting on one tester's comments before I make the final changes and finish the cover before it will be available.

New Pattern Coming Soon

My new pattern, Marley, will be sent to testers soon. It's a dress in sizes 1 - 6 named after my first grandchild, due to be born in mid January. I'll post a picture soon.

Who Dat?

Ava Sundress Customer Creation

What a great treat to see these pictures in an email from a customer today. She used the Ava Sundress pattern and added a ruffle to the hem. This precious model has some great poses. Thanks R for sending these.

McKensie Pattern Now Available

McKensie Pattern now available in my Etsy Store. McKensie is a quick project that allows you to be creative. Great for some embroidery on the bodice, pocket or band. For a simpler look, the pocket and/or band can be eliminated.

This pattern takes very little fabric so is great to clean out some of those small pieces in your stash.

Ava and Annette Customer Creations

A customer sent me these pictures recently using the Annette Reversible Sundress and Ava Sundress. What a great idea to add the panel for the July 4th dress and the rick rack trim.
I love this print and the extra bows on the shoulders are so cute.

It is such a treat to get these pictures from customers and see the ways they make the patterns different and unique. Thanks to all the customers who send me the pics.

Spring and Sewing

After the cold winter we have had, even here in the South, I am ready for some Spring weather and that means Spring sewing. I seem to have more energy and inspiration when the sun is shining, flowers and trees begin to bud and days are longer. My biggest problem is trying to decide what fabric to use with so many bright and colorful choices.

These are a few of my recent fabric purchases.

The two on the left are Robert Kaufman-s Monaluna Mod Bird by Jennifer Moore. Two in the middle are Moda Smore Marshmallow Cream Swirls and Pink Polka Dots and the one on the right is Amy Schimler Confections Cupcakes and Flowers.

Thanks also to Joni for taking the pictures for my cover and allowing her little one to be my model. She has 3 daughters that I adore and call my "adopted granddaughters".

Karesa Dress Pattern

Karesa Dress Pattern now available for purchase just in time to get started on a Easter dress for someone special.

Karesa Dress Pattern in sizes 1 through 4 is a sleeveless dress with a gathered skirt that buttons down the back and has a contrasting waistband and optional collar.

This is the option without the collar. I also included instructions to make a longer look.

Karesa - New Pattern Coming Soon

Here is my new pattern - Karesa. It was sent to testers last night and should be available in a couple of weeks. The model is one of my "adopted" grandchildren. Her mom is a photographer and took some pictures for me. She is such a cute little model, it's hard for me to choose which picture to use for the cover. I'll post it when the final pattern is ready to sell.

Christmas Stockings - Customer Creation

I taught a class at All Brands using my Christmas Stocking Epattern. After making one in the class, one of the ladies went home and made all of these.

The great fabric combinations and name added to the cuff made these so adorable.

Ava Sundress Tester Pictures

These are the pictures from testers of the Ava Sundress Pattern. It's fun to see the color choices and ideas customers and testers use.


Two of my testers have little girls as you can see by the pictures. The other two are like me and don't have little ones but love to sew for them.


You won't believe how fast this pattern is to make. You can make several for everyday without the bow or make one bow that coordinates with several. Add an applique or embroidery design on the front. Even add a top underneath for cooler weather.

I have to make changes, create the cover and put it all together. I am shooting for getting it out this weekend.
