Dodie Sundress - New Pattern Almost done

Here is a picture of my new pattern - Dodie.  It's a very easy sundress that has lots of possibilities.  Because it uses very little fabric, you can use scraps especially for the bodice and straps.  The only difference between this and the final version is the length (I will be adding length to the final version).

I'm waiting on one tester's comments before I make the final changes and finish the cover before it will be available.

Karesa Dress

The Karesa Dress was named after my niece. Here she is showing the dress she made for her niece's first birthday. Although she hadn't sewn in awhile, the dress came out great

Here a couple pictures of the little one in her birthday dress. Isn't she the cutest?

Karesa Dress Customer Creations

Just got these awesome pictures from one of the military moms. She used the Karesa Dress Pattern.

She added the wide band along the bottom. This is a great way to use smaller pieces of fabric from your stash. If you don't have quite enough for the length, just add a band of another fabric along the bottom. It is also a great way to add another fabric and some contrast.

She also made her daughter's baby doll a matching outfit. So cute!
I had a little visitor this past Sunday and she was wearing the Karesa Dress I made for her. Enjoyed the visit with her and her grandma (TNu).

JoAnn Pattern - Tester Pictures

Here are the pictures and some comments from the testers of the JoAnn Pattern. Thanks Joy and Melissa for helping me test this pattern. There are two options for the front and it just happened that each chose a different style.

Melissa said:
The dress was so easy to make and I thought it turned out really cute. I think it only took me about 1.5 hours to make.

This is Melissa's neice wearing the dress she made. What a cutie!

Joy said:
This is a GREAT pattern!! The fact that it takes only 3/4" of fabric & lining and goes together so quickly is sure to make it a favorite for moms!!

Joy designs embroidery applique designs and added the beautiful flowers along the hem. She sells her designs on Applique for Kids. She has this dress in her design gallery.

Betsey/Joey Shorts - Customer Creation

Look at this handsome young man in his new customer creation made from Betsey/Joey Reversible Shorts pattern with an added applique from a pattern on You Can Make This.

Here is what she said:
I loved your shorts pattern. Again, wonderful instructions. I also followed the link on your blog to youcanmakethis.com and got the whale applique
She added a small pocket to the shorts back to better distinguish the front from the back and a wave applique on the back of the tshirt. He's just as cute coming or going.
Here is the reversed side. What a great color combination.
Thanks for sending these great pictures.

Emily Dress - New Pattern

Here's a preview of my latest pattern - Emily. I've been wanting to try out this idea for awhile and am pleased with the results. It has pleat inserts in a contrasting fabric, buttons down the back and is fully lined. I have a few things to add to the instructions then out to the testers. Even though it won't be quite as easy as my other patterns, I would still consider it moderately simple. I made a special effort to take lots of pictures and explain each step in detail. This dress is great for those special dress up occasions but simple enough for everyday play.

As I've posted before, I name my patterns after someone. This one is named after my neice who is very special to me. She is the daughter of my identical twin sister who passed away 10 years ago.

Sew Sensible has a new pattern available soon called Hope Joy. It's a cute bubble top that goes great with her twirl skort pattern.

New Pattern for Boys & Girls

NEW PATTERN - COMING SOON!

I'm working on a new pattern that will be called Betsey/Joey and will be for boys or girls sizes 1 through 4. This one will have a reversible option, different lengths and instructions and ideas to change the look. It will be a pattern that can be used over and over and combined with other patterns for new and different looks. I'm still in the testing stage and getting the details worked out. I've had to make several to find the best and easiest way to sew it together plus I want to have lots of pictures of the different options available.

That's all I'm saying for now but will be posting updates as it progresses. I'm looking forward to offering this pattern and hope I can get it out in the next few weeks.

You may have noticed that I name my patterns and each one so far is named for someone special to me. Here is a little about the inspiration for the names.

Annette Reversible Sundress Pattern -
This was my very first epattern. There was lots of trial and error, corrections and revisions but finally finished product was completed and submitted. The Annette pattern is named after my identical twin sister, Annette, who died 10 years ago. She also enjoyed sewing and other crafty things and I know if she were still alive, we would probably doing these patterns together. I wanted to do something special to honor her. Even though it has been 10 years, she is still missed greatly.

My Twin Sister, Annette and I as Toddlers

Tana Tutu Dress -
Tana was named after my oldest daughter. Her name comes from my grandmother, Antonia Fontana. To the grandchildren, she was known as Momo Tana. Tana was a prissy little girl so I thought naming the tutu dress for her was fitting.

Momo Tana

Karen Capri Pants and Halter Top -
Karen is named after my twin sister's daughter. Karen and Tana were born 6 weeks apart but have very different personalities.

Karen & Tana

Betsey/Joey
This new pattern is named after my two younger children. Betsey is a coach and loves sports and since the pattern will be for boys also, I decided to use both their names.

Betsey

Joey In the future, I will have a pattern named Emily, my twin sister's other daughter. After that, I'll see what names and people inspire me for future patterns.

I found some cute ribbon that is orange with green circles for the reversed side.
