New Purse

I finally made myself a new purse last Friday. The previous one I made was a smaller than I needed so I made this one a little bigger and slightly different. With the flap over the front, I guess you would call it a messenger style bag.

Unlike the other, this one has sides. I also added some plastic canvas to the bottom between the main fabric and lining and used fusible interfacing on the main fabric for a little extra stability.
I put pockets on both sides. One side has two small pockets for a pen, one for my checkbook and one for miscellaneous papers. On the other side is two rows of pockets. I put my camera, cell phone, cell phone charger and other miscellaneous items. I know I carry around more stuff than I really need but I can't seem to leave it out.
I've only worn it for a couple of days so far the size seems to be working, at least for now.

Karen Capri Pants & Halter Top Pattern and 3 Pattern Bundle Pack

The Karen Capri Pants and Halter Top Pattern is complete and now available in my Etsy shop. I am so blessed to have many friends with precious little girls that I can use for my models. The green set is a size 1 and the floral yellow is a size 3.
I also listed a 3 Pattern Bundle Pack that includes the 3 clothing patterns I have - Annette Reversible Sundress (Sizes 1/2 through 5), Tana Tutu Dress (Sizes 1 -4 ) and Karen Capri Pants and Halter Top (Sizes 1-4) at a savings of 30%.

Spring is approaching fast and with these 3 patterns, you could make an entire wardrobe for the Spring & Summer or a special Easter outfit. All three patterns are easy to make even for the beginner. I also include my email address for any questions.

Karen Capri and Halter Top Pattern Model

This past weekend I went to a friend's house to take pictures of her daughter in an outfit made from my new pattern - Karen Capri Pants and Halter Top that will be out in the next few weeks. She loves to take pictures so we were able to get some really cute shots of her. Isn't she adorable?

Another Karen Capri Outfit

This is another outfit I made from the new epattern I'm working on. This one is a Size 1. I lined the top with the same fabric as the rest of the outfit and because of the way it is made can be worn on either side. This weekend I am hoping to take some pictures of the outfit on a friend's daughter for the cover.

APIL Skills Testing for Tball League Starting Soon

Ascension Parish Inclusion League had an event this past Saturday. The children were involved in skill testing for the upcoming t ball league.

Bright colored tees were lined up to assess the hitting skills.
Gloves with velcro balls were used for throwing and catching.

Everyone got on home plate to go over the bases and general rules.

As always, there is one on one interaction by both volunteers and parents.
Volunteers help each other with suggestions, comments and guidance.

This is a picture of the new swing that was made possible by the grant APIL received. It has two sets of swings, one for a wheelchair and one regular on each side creating an arrangement that allows someone in a wheelchair to swing along side someone who is not. The base will be constructed by the parish and should be ready for the Spring. It is the first one of it's kind in the parish and we are thrilled to be able to have this available in our community.

Next APIL Event is February 23rd at 10AM. Location may change to Donaldsonville. I'll post the information when it is decided.
Tball League Registration is Monday, March 10th at 5:30PM. LSU Tiger Baseball team members will be available for pictures and autographs.
APIL is a non-competitive inclusive recreation league for children with or without disabilities (ages 4-13) to participate together in recreational activities and games.

Sewing and Pattern Update

I'm in the process of working on another epattern. It's going to be a top and bottom set that will be great for the summer in sizes 1 - 4. I've got the pattern done and have one cut out for testing. Here is the fabric I'm using.
My Tana Tutu Pattern has been tested at YCMT and should be available soon on their site. I currently have it available on Etsy along with some bundle packs. It's such a fun dress to make and wear. I look forward to seeing what customers create from it.

Getting Away to the Beach

This weekend I got the chance to get away and spend a couple of nights in Destin, Florida. I haven't been to Destin in many years and forgot how beautiful the beach and water are. Since Florida was hit with some many hurricanes a few years ago, many of the houses and business have rebuilt. Everything is so new and clean.

I especially like the beach in the winter. Something about the sound of the waves is so calming to me. Standing next to the huge ocean gives you a sense of prospective. Your cares and problems seem so much smaller in comparison.
