Customers are very creative at adding their own touches to my patterns as shown by G with these shorts she made from the Betsey/Joey Shorts Pattern. She added a belt, belt loops and a cuff from the contrasting fabric . What a great idea. Thanks G for sharing this picture.
Here is what she said:
"I managed to make the cutest pair of little shorts form your pattern last night, i was too excited to wait. I added belt loops and a belt tie...too cute to boot!!!"

My New Embroidery Machine
I now the proud owner of a new embroidery machine. I just got it a couple of days ago and haven't had alot of time to "play" but it is very simple to use and I can see lots of possibilities.
My JoAnn pattern is out for testing and should be available in 2 or 3 weeks. I have to get the cover pictures taken and wait on the tester comments for revisions. I'm looking forward to getting this one out. I love designing little girl dress patterns and this one is easy and goes together quickly.
I have had several requests for a boy pattern and have something in mind. It is just an idea right now but I plan to at least give it a 1st try soon. Sometimes what I imagine something to look like doesn't always live up to my expectations when it is actually finished. I'll keep posting updates on the progress.

New Pattern Drafts - JoAnn
Here is a few drafts of the new pattern I'm working on. I'm calling it JoAnn.
This was just the first rough draft.
This one I completely made but wasn't satisfied with the collar.
This was the 3rd try and very close to what I want.

I love my new "babies" to be able to try on the drafts to see how they look. The pattern is drawn for the most part and most of the pictures for the instructions taken. I still have the size 4 to make and am thinking about adding another option for the front closure. Maybe this week I'll have it ready for testing.

Newest Additions to My Family
Since it doesn't look like I'll be having grandkids anytime soon, I decided to adopt these four children - ages 6 months, 1 year, 3 years and 5 years. No name yet but I'm open for suggestions. I think they will have to be named something that could be boy or girl - Randi, Riley, Taylor, Terri, Tony????
I've had the website as a favorite and have contemplated getting them for a long time and finally decided to purchase them. I think they will help when I'm testing new patterns to see how they look on the mannequins.
I put them together last night and dressed them all with my oldest daughter looking on and shaking her head.

APIL Basketball - End of Season
We finished the APIL (Ascension Parish Inclusive League) basketball season at St. Amant Middle School Gym. Each participant received a certificate and trophy. Carl Seiner who runs the AYBA program was awesome in setting up the games as each gym and providing the trophies. The season was a great success and enjoyed by both the children and volunteers.

New Pattern - Riley Pants & Top
The Riley Pattern is finally done and available on Etsy and soon to be available on YCMT and at All Brands.
This is another Riley set I made from fabric I purchased at All Brands. They have some great fabrics for the Spring and Summer in the store and online.
I added a grosgrain ribbon trim along the top of the pocket on one of the tops. The pocket is also a good place for a monogram or applique.
For a summer look, I made capri pants to go with the Riley Top using the Karen Capri Pattern as well as an extra top out of the solid. One of the outfits will be on display at the All Brands store in Baton Rouge.

Karen Capri Set Customer Creation
I received these pictures from Joy at Applique for Kids using the Karen Capri Pattern. The fish is one of many designs available on her website. She shows how changing a few things can make a different and unique look. She used a border on the ruffle with the same fabric as the fish applique as well as piping along the top of the ruffle.
Adding the same ruffle and applique on the pants ties it all together. With the wavy blue fabric, the fish actually look like it is swimming in the water.
